How do the classes work?

The classes are usually 1:1, or in a small group of students if requested. If mentees want to proceed with a group lesson, they must notify INCIO prior to the class so that the schedule can be managed. The class will take place once in a week or once per two weeks, and each class will be 1~2 hours long depending on the mentee/mentor. The schedules will be discussed between mentor and mentee, and there is no fixated schedule for each subject/language. The mentors are given with volunteer hours if they submit the proof of class (screenshot) and activity report sheet. Further information will be given when the mentors are signed up to a student.

수업은 일반적으로 1:1 형식으로 진행되며, 요청이 있을 경우 소규모 그룹 수업으로 조정될 수 있습니다. 멘티가 그룹 수업을 원할 경우, 수업 일정 조율을 위해 반드시 사전에 INCIO 측에 알려야 합니다. 수업은 주 1회 또는 격주 1회 진행되며, 각 수업은 멘토와 멘티 간 협의에 따라 1~2시간 정도로 운영됩니다. 과목 또는 언어별로 고정된 일정은 없으며, 수업 일정은 멘토와 멘티 간의 논의를 통해 자율적으로 조정 가능합니다. 멘토는 수업 진행 후, 수업 증빙 자료(스크린샷)와 활동일지(보고서)를 제출할 경우 봉사 시간을 인정받을 수 있습니다.

What do I do if I have Schedule Conflicts?

Both mentors and mentees have to notify each other prior of class time or date in order to re-schedule the classes. It is unnecessary to notify INCIO board members if the reason for class cancelation is clear. However, if a mentor/mentee does not show up without notifying the other before the class, AND is not answering to any text / message / phone calls, please notify INCIO by contacting our email. If unexcused absence of one party continues more than three times in a row, please let INCIO know by email so that we can find you another mentor/mentee for the remaining classes. Please keep in mind that mentors who exceeds 3 unexcused absence will be penalized AND will be kicked out of the organization. Mentees who exceeds 3 unexcused absence will not be able to sign up for further classes for the rest of the semester and will be pushed back in line for class reservations the next semester.

멘토와 멘티는 개인 스케줄이 변동이 있을 시 서로에게 수업 전에 미리 연락을 줌으로서 서로에게 피해가 가지 않을 수 있도록 해 주십시오. 만약 정당한 사유가 있다면 INCIO에게 따로 보고를 하지 않아도 됩니다. 하지만, 멘토 또는 멘티가 미리 연락을 하지 않고 수업에 참여하지 않으며 문자/전화를 받지 않을 시, INCIO의 메일을 통해서 이 사실을 알려주십시오. 또한, 정당한 사유가 없거나 미리 전달이 되지 않은 결석이 3번을 초과한다면 INCIO에게 이 사실을 고지해주십시오. 사실 확인 후 새로운 멘토/멘티를 찾아 나머지 수업을 진행할 수 있도록 힘쓰겠습니다. 멘토가 무단결석을 3회 초과할 시 처벌이 있을 것이며, 이 단체에서 1년동안 추방됩니다. 멘티가 무단결석을 3회 초과할 시 남은 학기동안 수업을 받을 수 없으며, 다음 학기가 시작된 후에도 참여자가 많을 시 대기순서가 뒤로 밀려나게 됩니다.

How often are the regular meetings?

Regular meetings take place every month, the second week Saturday. The time will vary depending on the majority vote. Usually, the meetings take place during August~next year March. This is our semester. High school students attending international schools and schools outside of Korea take AP exams and final exams during April~June. Also, many students attend University camps during July. Therefore it may be difficult to schedule classes during those months. Meeting schedule may change slightly due to timing conflicts, but if it happens the updated schedule will be announced in Kakaotalk open chat.

정기 모임은 매달 둘째 주 토요일에 진행됩니다. 정확한 시간은 다수의 의견을 반영하여 조정되며, 일반적으로 8월부터 다음 해 3월까지 모임이 이루어집니다. 이 기간이 저희 단체의 학기로 표기됩니다. 외국인학교, 국제학교, 외국에 거주하는 고등학교 학생들은 4월부터 6월까지 대학 진학 시험이 있어 교원이 별도로 수락하지 않는 이상 이 기간에는 프로그램을 진행하지 않습니다. 또한 7월에는 많은 학생들이 미국.영국 대학에 입시 캠프를 가기 때문에 시차, 스케줄 등에 차질이 생겨 수업이 어려울 수 있습니다.
일정에 변동이 생길 수 있으나, 이 경우 변경된 일정은 카카오톡 오픈채팅방을 통해 공지됩니다.

I’d like to join the mentor/mentee team, how can I do that?

Mentor: Please read the protocols that are written in “Join Us” section. After, complete the application linked and submit the form. You will hear back from the INCIO Board Member Committee within two weeks. If the response is positive, we will soon reach out to you to schedule an interview with CEO and Vice of the organization. If you are not qualified for the organization, we will send an email to you regarding why we had to reject you, and if there is any way you may update for you to join the organization.

멘토 안내문: “Join Us” 섹션에 기재된 규정을 먼저 숙지해 주시기 바랍니다. 이후, 첨부된 지원서를 작성하여 제출해 주십시오. 제출하신 후, INCIO 운영위원회로부터 2주 이내에 회신을 받게 됩니다.
적격으로 판단될 경우, 조직의 대표이사 및 부대표와의 인터뷰 일정을 조율하기 위해 개별 연락을 드릴 예정입니다.
만약 부득이하게 선발이 어렵다고 판단될 경우, 그 사유와 함께 추후 지원을 위한 개선 방향을 이메일로 안내드릴 것입니다.

단, 만 8세 미만이거나 24세 초과, 신변이 안전하지 않은 상황에 있거나, 정부의 감시 대상이거나, 본 단체가 연락 가능한 보호자가 없는 경우에는 지원이 제한될 수 있습니다.
이러한 경우를 제외하고는 긍정적인 답변을 받게 될 것입니다.

Before you are assigned to any mentor/mentee, any questions are taken by INCIO’s official email. The official email is incio.official0413@gmail.com . If any personal questions to the mentors, access “Who?” section and under each mentor’s name, there is an email address for the individual.
